For 70 years, the Greater Austin YMCA has been a dynamic, equitable force in the community that helps people of all backgrounds improve their total wellbeing and quality of life. Anchored in three Central Texas counties, the Y serves nearly 100,000 people annually through eight centers.

We also provide afterschool education and care at more than 70 licensed campuses in four school districts and camps at more than 20 locations, including YMCA Camp Moody. Unlike any other organization in the region, the Y has the unique ability to welcome, educate, and elevate all and is committed to creating innovative programs, places, and people.

We believe all of us have the power to create positive change. Together, we educate and inspire youth throughout our community. We enhance the quality of life for families. We elevate our collective purpose and ensure equity, innovation, and sustainability throughout Central Texas. Ultimately, when you power your purpose at the YMCA, you are powering change all around you. Your mind & body are our community’s heart & soul.

When you are part of the Y, you become part of a community and an organization that is actively and visibly improving outcomes for all. Today, we are continually listening and innovating to better address issues like health disparities, learning gaps, inequities, social isolation, food insecurity, and more.

We work daily to ensure that our members, program participants, donors, volunteers, and team members feel genuinely welcome, encouraged, and supported. The Greater Austin YMCA is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in every community we serve.

As with everything we do, we are guided by our core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith—values that compel us to recognize the dignity of every person and to be a multicultural and inclusive organization.

Mission & Purpose

Our mission serves all ages, cultures, races and ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and faiths. We recognize our heritage, the power of love, and a culture of belonging within our mission: To put Christian principles (such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility) into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
