To improve the quality of life of all people with, or at risk of, incontinence or pelvic floor disorders by extending and improving practice.

The International Continence Society (ICS) is a registered charity with a global health focus which strives to improve the quality of life for people affected by urinary, bowel and pelvic floor disorders by advancing basic and clinical science through education, research, and advocacy. The strategic aim for the ICS is to be the global home of science and clinical education for LUTS, Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Disorders.

Since 1971 the ICS has led multi-disciplinary continence research and education on a worldwide scale through the ICS Annual Meeting and the journals Continence and Continence Reports.

With over 3,000 members ICS is a thriving society of Urologists, Uro-gynaecologists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Basic Scientists and Researchers with a focus on continence and pelvic floor disorders. We are growing every day and welcome you to join our Society.

The Society is an inclusive organisation that embraces and benefits from the broad perspectives of its diverse community, and creates a supportive learning environment to foster open communication. Any medical professional, patient or member of the general public may become an ICS member without any application approval process.
