Lois Reece, a native of Springfield, Missouri, has been a resident of Atlanta, Georgia for the past 25 years. After having an extensive career with the Cobb County Government, she decided to pursue her passion for barbering.
Her educational training in barbering began at Vogue Beauty School where she honed her craft and later acquired her Master Barber’s license. She then furthered her education at 71 Barber’s Institute where she enhanced her gift of teaching and acquired the knowledge to become a Master Educator (in barbering).
Since then, she has set forth on a journey to help others reach their dream and feed their desire to ascertain the skill-set required to master the trade of barbering.
What I Do
I assist eager and determined students find and nurture a passion for Barbering. My area of specialty is breaking down the theory concepts into understandable nuggets and guiding the student into bringing those concepts into reality during practical exercises.
My approach is about exciting engagement, self-management under pressure, while preparing the student for real-world environments.
Why I Do It
I love it! And it's my passion. I believe that this trade, this industry is one of the best in world; its longevity is proof of such. There are so many people that I've encountered who were searching for something to help elevate them.
These same people were gifted with creativity and a sharp eye for detail, and I have been able to assist them in honing their skills, narrowing their focus, and in turn become successful leaders in this industry. I do this because I care about our tomorrow and I want to help empower others to be the best them that they can be.
The objective is to train students in basic skills needed to meet the level of competence for the examination required by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers.
