LSI/IH Portsmouth was established in 1985 and is the no. 1 English language centre in the UK*, having achieved 100% in our last British Council inspection.
LSI/IH Portsmouth offers both face-to-face English language classes in Portsmouth and online English classes to suit all abilities and many different academic and professional needs.
We are an adults-only Centre, accepting students 18 years old and over. We run courses in General English, IELTS, Cambridge and OET Exam Preparation, 30+, Business English and University Pre-Sessional Courses.
We are a centre for IELTS tests, OET tests and Cambridge exams. We are a CELTA course training centre.
We are located in Portsmouth, a lively and historic university city on the beautiful south coast of England.
In our English for Human Resources course as well as formal classroom teaching to learn English, there is an emphasis on communicating effectively and to help our students achieve this, study activities include role-plays, case studies and simulations, video and audio recorded simulations
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is issued by the British Council and it is one of the most recognized language qualifications required for entry into British, Australian (and many American) universities and colleges of higher education.
Our full-time General English course offers intensive study and practice across all areas of the language.
