Welcome to Make Nashville
The Make Nashville Wiki is a space where we are able to keep track of all of the different facets of our makerspace. It should be the first place that you go to answer questions about the space if a staff member or leader isn't around to ask.
Specifically, on this wiki, users can learn about all the tools and shops that we offer, policies, safety, shop etiquette, as well as where to look for classes and workshops.
This is the official mission statement, as it appears on the charter for the organization.
MAKE NASHVILLE is an organization formed by makers chartered to nurture, support, and advocate for local and regional maker groups and initiatives. This includes: helping form new groups; holding regular meetings; educating the public, education, businesses, and government about the benefits of Maker endeavors; hosting and facilitating workshops, events, and performances; and any other activities that will support the maker community and enrich the lives as many people as possible.
We provide to Makers and their groups a common set of physical, planning, communication, and event resources, including the Make Nashville Makerspace. We coordinate the annual Nashville Mini Maker Faire as well as providing support for individual maker events, workshops, and maker spaces.
If you love knitwear, knitting and learning new skills, you'll love this workshop! You'll learn the basics of knitting on a flatbed hobby knitting machine provided by the instructor and will make three or more projects during this six-week workshop.
During this six-week workshop, expert seamstress Stephanie Dauenhauer will guide you through various intermediate sewing techniques to create a fashionable cross-body bag. You'll learn about zippers, buttons, patterns, and more. We can provide a sewing machine, or you can bring your own.
