The course is designed for site personnel with previous experience or training in slinger signaller activities. It covers key health and safety aspects of slinging and landing loads and the importance of providing clear directions to the crane operator during a lifting operation.
The purpose of the training is to give an overview of the health and safety issues to consider in the management of lifting operations, in particular compliance with Regulation 8 (Organisation of Lifting Operations) of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
The course covers key health and safety aspects and legal requirements for having a strict and robust onsite scaffolding inspection procedures in place and of company processes and procedures to enable them to fulfil their role in the company operations.
This one-day course is designed for site managers or anyone who inspects cavity barriers and/or fire stopping in low rise flats and housing. It explains where cavity barriers and fire stopping is needed and walks through both good and bad practice.
With a focus on NHBC Standards chapters 6.4 and 7.2, delegates will finish this course with a greater appreciation of the quality NHBC Inspectors expect to see on site.
