About us

• The Portuguese Language Institute was founded in 2001 by Rosely Saad, whose vision was to create not only a language school but also a cultural experience for students. As such, courses are often complemented by cultural events related to Portuguese-speaking countries and other related activities outside of the classroom.

Curriculum

• We pride ourselves in a curriculum geared towards a sustainable learning and proficiency of the Portuguese language. One of the main goals of our program is to have you use Portuguese in as large a variety of real-life situations as possible. We recognize the significance of practicing Portuguese both inside and outside the classroom.

Personalized instruction

• Communication in a warm and relaxed environment is an important feature of our programs. By limiting the size of our classes, we ensure that each student is able to actively participate in class. Teachers are available outside of class to answer any questions related to the course. 

Teaching techniques

• We rely on innovative teaching techniques to enhance students' learning experience. We offer students access to hundreds of smart flashcards through our partnership with Brainscape, a web and app based learning tool. This feature of our language programs allows students to practice what they learn in class at home and on the go.
