Rekayu Penang

Welcome to Rekayu! Our name is a combination of "Reka," which means "to create," and "Kayu," which means "wood" in Bahasa Malaysia. We are a woodworking makerspace that is passionate about empowering the next generation with woodworking skills and knowledge as well as design and problem-solving abilities.

We are a part of Penang Science Cluster (PSC), a non-profit STEM Education Hub which runs programmes and courses that positively impact thousands of school kids each year. 

We offer enthusiastic makers a fully-equipped woodworking makerspace for them to realise their creative ideas whether through our hobby or foundational courses and workshops, or through our membership programme. Our courses are designed to provide hands-on experience and a deep understanding of woodworking techniques and materials, while our members enjoy the use of a low-dust fully-equipped workshop and the support of a community of makers.
