Situated near Ohinemutu on the Lake Rotorua waterfront, you'll find us sailing dinghy yachts and catamarans most Sunday afternoons during the summer months. We usually rig from 12:30pm, to be on the water by 2pm. We offer Learn to Sail Youth and Adult Sailing Programmes. Popular learning classes include Optimist, Open Skiff, Laser (4.7, Radial and Standard), Topaz and Hobie catamarans. Our sheltered lake is superb for experienced sailors and those who are just getting started.
Rotorua Yacht Club follows the Yachting New Zealand Learn to Sail syllabus. Our children's programme begins in simple, robust Optimist boats, provided by Rotorua Yacht Club. Parents are under no obligation to buy a boat before starting the course.
