Safety & Compliance Services, Inc. (SCSI) is a highly-respected regulatory consulting firm based in Roanoke, Virginia. SCSI was founded by Timothy A. Fitzgerald in 1990.

With over 32 years of consulting experience in construction and general industry regulations and safety, he and other qualified staff members share their expertise of OSHA, EPA, DEQ, and DOT regulations with clients to help simplify managing the complex safety, environmental, and transportation issues in an ever-changing work environment.

We specialize in assisting our vast array of clients with loss prevention due to accidents and regulatory non-compliance.  Our programs are designed and implemented to ease the administrative burden on management, to identify hazards, reduce losses due to personal injury and property damage, and to enhance the knowledge and awareness of the employee's responsibility for safety in the workplace.

SCSI has a dedicated staff of health & safety instructors readily available to meet the needs of our clients on a 24/7 basis.  Our staff represents over 50 years of experience in the field. SCSI also has several retired safety directors with over 30 years of experience that assist with special out-of-town projects as needed. These individuals are available to come onsite for job site inspections, mock audits, and training.

Safety-related services include: consulting and training for organizations (ranging from governmental agencies and school districts, to private business and industry, small entrepreneurs, and Fortune 500 companies) under OSHA General and Construction Guidelines; mock audits; job site inspections; safety program/policy review and updates; tool box talks, and drug and alcohol testing. SCSI also provides random drug & alcohol selection services, and operates a DOT Consortium for commercial drivers and owner/operators.

SCSI offers DOT and non-DOT Supervisor Reasonable Suspicion training to ensure that its clients are knowledgeable in the various drug and alcohol testing scenarios.

In January 2021, SCSI expanded into Austin, Texas, and established SCSI Austin, headed up by managing partner Trip Ison.  This branch specializes in large high rise construction projects, and offers customized safety programs and training.
