The Bhakti Tree is committed to helping people from all walks of life lead a happier and more fulfilled existence. We do this by promoting a healthy diet and lifestyle through a number of avenues.

We have had a long history in Newcastle, first established as Hari’s café on King Street (subsequently Govinda's).  The cafe found its new permanent home in our current space in Mayfield in early 2015 and "The Bhakti Tree" was born. The Bhakti Tree is the only pure vegetarian and vegan café in Newcastle, where food is prepared with Bhakti.

‘Bhakti’ is a Sanskrit word, meaning love or devotion.

At The Bhakti Tree, following in the footsteps of our founder, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, we have created a community spirit where everyone feels welcome and loved.

Our various activities make up the branches of the Bhakti Tree – pure vegetarian and vegan food at our café in Mayfield or at the University of Newcastle through the student vegetarian club, yoga, kirtan (mantra-meditation), discussions on philosophy, cooking classes and catering.
