We have had a long history in Newcastle, first established as Hari’s café on King Street (subsequently Govinda's). The cafe found its new permanent home in our current space in Mayfield in early 2015 and "The Bhakti Tree" was born. The Bhakti Tree is the only pure vegetarian and vegan café in Newcastle, where food is prepared with Bhakti.
‘Bhakti’ is a Sanskrit word, meaning love or devotion.
At The Bhakti Tree, following in the footsteps of our founder, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, we have created a community spirit where everyone feels welcome and loved.

It’s often the main course where vegetarians miss out the most. This session offers much more than the usual vegetarian pastas and soy burgers. We will focus on some delectable vegetarian recipes that can challenge the fanciest meat dishes.
Join Hikmet for a course that promises lots of fun, new things to learn and delicious dishes. Learn how to make stuffed vegetables (variety of vegetables will be used), Turkish style okra stew, saksuka and spiced pumpkin dessert. All traditionally Turkish and all delicious.
