Founded in 1913, the LSC is one of the areas oldest sportsmen’s clubs. It was incorporated in 1931 and the first bylaws were adopted on May 27, 1931. Read more on the club’s history.

 

Our Mission:

The purpose of the Lowell Sportsmen’s Club (LSC) shall be to promote all legitimate sport with rod and gun, to enforce the laws for the protection and propagation of fish and game within the State, and to secure such legislation in this direction as may be needed.

Private spring-fed fishing pond, and canoe launch and camping area on the Club’s shore of Swain Pond.The clubhouse consists of a large, divided meeting and function area and a kitchen.

The six station indoor range is in the basement of the clubhouse and is limited to pistols and .22 LR or smaller caliber rifles. Only lead or frangible ammo is allowed on the indoor range. The 50 ft outdoor small bore range is for .22 and smaller caliber rifles and pistols.

All ranges are subject to the LSC’s Standard Operating Procedures and range rule.

 

Organization

The Club is lead by a Board of Directors consisting of 11 elected members. The Board of Directors includes 6 officers for the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Recording Secretary, and Communications Secretary. 

A number of committees run the Club’s facilities and ranges, and are formed for special projects. Members new and old are encouraged to participate on committees that match their areas of interest.

Club meetings are held at 8 p.m. every second Tuesday of each month and are run in accordance to Robert’s Rules of Order. Prospective members are encourage to come to the next monthly meeting, after reading information on joining the club.

Firearm Safety Courses

This course is recognized by Massachusetts as an approved Basic Firearms Safety Course (LTC-007) which meets the training requirement for application for a Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC).  Some physical movement is required and participants must be able to kneel, sit, and lie down.
