UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education (DCE) was established in 1962 and has served the lifelong learning and career development needs of individuals, organizations, and the community on a local, regional, and global scale.

Through a wide range of educational opportunities including certificate and specialized studies programs, short courses and strategic partnerships, we provide learning pathways for those seeking career advancement or personal enrichment. Today, we offer 80+ industry-relevant certificates and specialized studies programs on campus, online, and at corporate sites.

We also serve as a gateway for our students to reach other UC Extensions and campus amenities such as the UCI Alumni Association and the Chancellor’s Club. UCI is ranked 8th best public university in the nation and 35th among all American universities – public and private, according to the annual U.S. News & World Report “America’s Best Colleges” 2020 survey.

Founded in 1965, UCI is the youngest member of the prestigious Association of American Universities. The campus has produced three Nobel laureates and is known for its academic achievement, premier research, innovation, and anteater mascot. Led by Chancellor Howard Gillman, UCI has more than 36,000 students and offers 222 degree programs.

It’s located in one of the world’s safest and most economically vibrant communities and is Orange County’s second-largest employer, contributing $5 billion annually to the local economy. UCI is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

All courses and certificate programs offered by UCI DCE have been developed and are administered in accordance with UCI Division of Continuing Education policy and the regulations of the Academic Senate of the University of California.
