Tim was introduced to martial arts the old-fashioned way—through martial arts movies—as a youth. Watching Bruce Lee and Asian-themed cinema opened up his imagination to the possibilities of martial training.
Growing up, he encountered times and situations that opened the door to violent confrontations. These events led to his quest to better himself by learning to defend himself without fighting.
His official fight training started as a way of staying fit during the off-seasons of high school football. He began to wrestle in a 215-pound class. It soon became evident that he had a taste for physical contact.
He began basic boxing training in his early 20's. Learning to punch and basic footwork in drills, heavy bags, speed bags, focus mitts, and the double end ball. This began to cement his search for something more efficient and streamlined.
In May 2003, a doorway was opened in his life's journey. An introduction was given, and twenty minutes later he was embarking on the journey of his life.
Wing Chun has opened many doors that have allowed him to grow and experience life through a richer, more vibrant outlook. Stay tuned, for his journey has only just begun.
