The Gas Foundation Course is designed to take candidates with little or no experience and give them a good foundation of gas knowledge as the name suggests. This gas training course is the key to your new career as a gas engineer.
Candidates who complete this course along with their Initial ACS Gas Assessment will be qualified to undertake the interview and join many other former candidates working with a major gas supplier in the industry. We welcome candidates on this gas course, knowing they will have very successful careers and lucrative business opportunities ahead of them. You will not just gain a qualification but a skill to start earning you cash fast!
What do i need to take the course?
There is no pre- requisite qualification or knowledge required to attend this course. You should have a good standard of english in order to be able to understand the technical aspects of the course and normal literacy and numeracy.
How long is the course?
The duration of the Gas Foundation Course is currently 5 weeks with an additional 12 days to be notified during the course. This change from our previous course now incorporates the governments new Managed Learing Programme. The course is certified by Logic certification.

Characteristics of Gas constituencies and analysis investigation
Characteristics of Combustion
Ventilation and the importance to combustion to BS 5440 pt2
Flue and Chimney understanding to BS 5440 pt 1
Gas Tightness Testing & Purging to IGE/UP/1B edition 3
Pipework Sizing using brand new methodology to BS6891-2015
Pipework Installation with modern materials to expected standards
Commissioning of Appliances to Benchmark standards
Servicing using manufacturers instructions and what to do in their absence
Landlords Gas Safety Inspections or CP12's and the LAW
Unsafe situations procedure, i.e. how do I classify a given Gas situation & what do I do
Gas Controls and Safety Devices - how do they work and how do I test them?
CPA1 - Combustion Performance testing to BS 7967:2015 [NOW MANDATORY]
CENWAT - All boilers & Water Heaters to BS 6798 & BS 5546, service, maintenance & installation.
CKR1 – Installation and Maintenance of Gas Cookers to BS 6172
HTR1 - Inset/Radiant & Flueless fires to BS 5871 pts 1,2,3.
MET1 - Secondary meters to BS 6400, installation, testing and regulations.
This course gives delegates a renewal of the comprehensive awareness of the dangers of asbestos.
This is a CITB accredited 1/2 day course covering all aspects of the use and fitting of abrasive wheels.
This course trains employees in basic scaffold awareness. It deals with traditional tube and fitting scaffolds to the current best practice in the UK, but not system scaffolds
This PASMA accredited course is for managers overseeing the work of operatives on site who need to assemble and dismantle aluminium scaffold towers.
