The Club was founded in 1908 but at the outset it was called Woodhouses School Recreation Club. The old British School has long since gone as has the silk loom weaving in the village.
The long rooms of the weaving trade have been converted into the cottages on Medlock Road on the approach to the ground. The name Woodhouses probably came from the term ‘Woodheys’ which means an area surrounded by trees.
Cricket Training and Practice is offered by Woodhouses Cricket Club for all Seniors and Juniors of all skill level.
