The Electrical Helper program teaches students the essentials to an entry-level position within the electrical industry. Graduates of this program will have a basic understanding of electrical theory and be able to apply safe electrical practices.

This course covers OSHA Electrical Standards and the hazards associated with electrical installations and equipment. Course topics include single- and three-phase systems, cord- and plug-connected and fixed equipment, grounding, ground fault circuit interrupters.

This course provides you with an understanding of the requirements outlined by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 70E for electrical safety in the workplace. You will be able to use this knowledge to educate your employees on NFPA 70E safety standards.

This course is designed for individuals who work on or near energized electrical systems. Course topics include updates to NFPA 70E Standards for Electrical Safety, and emphasis will be placed on topics that are the most hazardous.

The aim of this program is to provide comprehensive on-site training to high-risk workers (i.e. skilled trades and maintenance workers) and management on the requirements of Sub Part S, and the prevention of serious injuries from electrical hazards at their worksites.

This course is an elective course that may help meet the requirement to apply for a Site Safety Training Card. This is awareness level training only and does not provide any other qualifications or authorizations outside of the Site Security Training Card.
