This course is intended for any of the workforce who are required to operate or change abrasive wheels or cutting off discs. This one day course meets the criteria for a CITB grant and applicants will be fully supported by Safe Life.

Responsibilities of employees under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
Construction ( Design and Management) Regulations 2007
Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulations 1992
Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998
Safety in the use of abrasive wheels HS(G) 17
Manual Handling Regulations 1992
Types and functions of abrasive wheels and cutting off discs
The appropriate selection, testing, mounting and storage of abrasive wheels and cutting off discs
The care, maintenance, transport and handling of abrasive wheels and cutting off discs
Training Method
This one day course is very interactive and requires a lot of hands-on practical work. Both the theory and practical sessions are supported by the use of PowerPoint presentation and helpful handouts which attendees are encouraged to keep and use as a reference after the course has ended.
Certification
Completion of this course will result in a useful Safe Life certificate, accepted by employers.
