This qualification is aimed at anyone who handles food. This qualification is for a ‘low-risk’ role, where there is an element of food handling, such as bar workers, waiting staff, health care workers, kitchen porters and stock/storeroom staff.

 

What’s the course about?

  • Anyone who handles food that involves storage, handling, preparation and processing should access this qualification.

  • The learning outcomes of this course cover the key areas of how to handle food safely.

 

Assessment:

  • This half day course is followed by a 30 min multiple choice test. The pass mark 10/15

  • Refresher training is normally every 3 years.

 

Certification:

  • The Level 1 Award in Food Safety certification demonstrates that the learner has successfully achieved suitable and sufficient knowledge in food hygiene practices to this level.
