This can be accomplished through an in-class evaluation during a regularly scheduled class or in a scheduled placement audition class. This is also an opportunity for you and your dancer to “audition” us!
CityDance is a nonprofit dance institution dedicated to developing the next generation of dance artists and innovators.
At our studio and community sites located across the national capital region, CityDance trains young dancers for professional careers, nurtures talent and achievement through dance, and works to advance the field of professional dance.

We build programming centered on the unique cultures, histories and voices of the communities, artists and students with whom we partner.
Students ages 7 and up are invited to participate in a one-hour ballet class. Â Our disciplined, yet encouragement-based technique class offers the student a clear understanding of ballet terminology, proper body lines, and alignment.
Dancers gain admittance to this class through teacher recommendation and director approval. Â This 75-minute non-performing technique class will focus on the strength and alignment necessary for pointe work.
This class introduces students to the elements of ballet. Ballet exercises including barre work, center work, and across the floor combinations, combined with creative lessons in rhythm, coordination, balance, and musicality stimulate students’ creativity and self-expression.
Students enrolled in the pre-professional division are placed in each level on a basis of individual improvement, technical ability, and work ethic.
Ballet Dance Classes are offered by Dancyn Studio for all ages and skill level. At Dancyn Studio we prepare our dancers for a future of success. By ingraining the values of hard work, discipline, and teamwork, they gain a solid foundation of dance excellence.
