Dancers must be enrolled in this class for two years (year-round) in order to be considered for evaluation for pointe shoes. There will be no performance element to this class.
Dancers must wear a leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

Classical dance introducing basic ballet positions, plie, tendu, chaine turn, bouree, and pique turn.
This class introduces students to the elements of ballet. Ballet exercises including barre work, center work, and across the floor combinations, combined with creative lessons in rhythm, coordination, balance, and musicality stimulate students’ creativity and self-expression.
Vaganova method is a ballet technique & training system, dancers learn exercises, steps, & combinations. A ballet class consists of several segments, usually: barre, center, adagio, allegro, & reverence, with French terminology.
In Ballet level II/Pointe, attention is paid to the proper extension of the legs and shape of the feet, developing movement sequences, port de bras, and balance. Students will see an increase in difficulty in barre and center work. Students will also begin to focus on repetition and retention.
