The syllabus we follow progressively builds through Primary to Advanced levels. Students may be eligible for ballet exams at the discretion of the teacher.
Calgary West Dance Academy is committed to providing professional and safe dance training to children and youth of all ages. We focus on providing an age-appropriate dance experience that allows children to be kids while still providing exceptional technical training. Our choreography, costume and music choices will always reflect age-appropriate themes and content.

Creativity:
Our school goes above and beyond the training you will find at any comparable studio. Each student is of equal importance to us and we wish to help all students achieve their personal best.
Dance is at the foundation of what we teach but the lessons taught involve much more. We train dancers who are both technically strong performers as well as creative artists, compassionate peers and confident leaders.
National Dance classes are offered by The Dance Theatre Performing Arts. Short-term classes will be offered in various styles of ethnic dance throughout the season.
This class will further develop skills and strengthen the necessary muscles and technique to pursue enrolling in future pointe classes.
The development of basic to advanced technique as the foundation of all dance with emphasis on dramatic expression through barre exercise and stretches for flexibility, strength, control, balance, poise, and grace.
Pointe classes are for dedicated ballet students. Candidates for Pointe must be in Cecchetti III and be at least 12 years old. Dancers must be taking two ballet classes per week and the pre-Pointe class in order to be evaluated by the teacher as candidates for Pointe.
The strength and mobility of the feet as well as those of the ankles are developed through various exercises
