Our ballet program is designed to develop, inspire, and sustain a love of ballet in every student. We have a progressive age appropriate curriculum which affords students the opportunity to develop a strong technique, discipline, creativity, artistry, musicality, and confidence.
We provide a complete training program for recreational dancers as well as those aspiring to pursue a professional ballet career. Students new to DCA should contact us to see what level would be appropriate for them.
​Dance Creations Academy was founded in a Fishers, Indiana church in 1993 by Bev Wohrle. She began by choreographing liturgical dance in worship services. At Christmas time she staged young children as "dancing angels" which turned into our first class and dance ministry of 8 girls and boys.
We had humble beginnings as a traveling dance studio. She transported 4' x 6' portable mirrors and ballet barres in her mini-van to different locations. Since then we have expanded to a beautiful 8000 s.f. building with a faculty of 10 highly qualified instructors and nearly 300 students.
Students ages 7 and up are invited to participate in a one-hour ballet class. Â Our disciplined, yet encouragement-based technique class offers the student a clear understanding of ballet terminology, proper body lines, and alignment.
Dancers gain admittance to this class through teacher recommendation and director approval. Â This 75-minute non-performing technique class will focus on the strength and alignment necessary for pointe work.
This class introduces students to the elements of ballet. Ballet exercises including barre work, center work, and across the floor combinations, combined with creative lessons in rhythm, coordination, balance, and musicality stimulate students’ creativity and self-expression.
Students enrolled in the pre-professional division are placed in each level on a basis of individual improvement, technical ability, and work ethic.
Ballet Dance Classes are offered by Dancyn Studio for all ages and skill level. At Dancyn Studio we prepare our dancers for a future of success. By ingraining the values of hard work, discipline, and teamwork, they gain a solid foundation of dance excellence.
