Ballet is the favourite subject at Dancehouse. The classical technique should be all well understood and firmly established in the body. Students should be excited by the challenge of more advanced adage sequences, multiple pirouettes, battery and grand allegro.

Students should be excited by the challenge of more advanced adage sequences, multiple pirouettes, battery and grand allegro. You will sweat, some days you will want to cry, other days you will be flying on air, it is getting difficult but the rewards and sense of achievement make it so worth while.
As well as the set syllabus ballet classes, dancers will be given Open Ballet classes. These classes are based on a ballet companies' daily class and has different music and different steps every time it meets. This challenges the brain and improves technique.
Also included with the Ballet classes will be some of the ATOD Contemporary Dance work. Contemporary Dance is your chance to explore your creativity. We'll take a theme or concept and explore how you can move to convey the idea and tell the story. Improvisation and self choreography are an important part of a contemporary dance class and students need to learn to "let go" and be confident with their own interpretation of the music and the theme.

We offer classes in Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Circus. For our youngest dancers, we have the excellent Ready Set Dance, Ready Set ballet and Little Monkeys programs which promote the 3 C's - of Confidence, Coordination and Creativity.

Studying classical ballet develops poise, confidence, coordination, and discipline. Very young dancers attend lessons once a week. Students from Primary (usually age 6) to Grade 5 must attend 2 ballet lessons per week.
The basis and foundation of most dance styles. Classical Ballet classes develop strength, agility, flexibility, and balance, all while increasing the student’s focus and body awareness. Students are taught grace, poise, posture and musicality.
Heidi's School of Dance Classical Ballet classes encourage students to develop their technique, posture, grace and confidence through the British Ballet Organisation Syllabus.
At The Dance and Theatre Factory we teach the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, Open Ballet classes and offer private tuition.
