In the summer 2009 Allan was encouraged by the local community around Victoria Park to open a school that would give the children of Tower Hamlets and Hackney an opportunity to attend regular ballet classes.
After very little consideration the first class started in September 2009 and the support has been overwhelming. Going into the 9th year this year the children have danced in many shows by the school and improved their dancing and added high exam results to their achievements.
Aims:
To encourage joyous creativity, artistic courage and acknowledge the possibilities within one self. Educate each person in making the best one can do, be respectful to others and create good in all matters of life.

The school’s determination lies in its efforts to create good in all aspects of human and environmental life.
The school (ELDS) highly welcomes all backgrounds, cultures, race and religion. The school keeps all recorded personal information in strict confidentiality (Data Protection Act 1998) and adheres to Health and Safety procedures to ensure each child dances in a class appropriate to their level of development. The school has a Children Safeguarding Policy in place that is updated every year.
Ballet classes are offered by Gems Dance Academy. Gems Dance Academy will provide the highest quality of tuition across all aspects and styles of dance and performing arts.
The School offers classes from 2.5 years upwards, including adult ballet. Pupils train towards Royal Academy of Dance examinations, and regularly perform presentations, as well as school shows and workshops .
Classical ballet is the foundation from which nearly all dance styles have developed and it has a big influence on all the training we offer In our Ballet classes for children creative variations are combined with technique, posture exercises and great music.
If Ballet gives a strong core, discipline and elegance to a dancer, modern dance is the stem from which all other dances grow. It unlocks the imagination and allows the dancer to become creative.
Ballet classes are offered by Candi’s School of Dance.We take great pride in maintaining a high level of encouragement and confidence building to ensure all our students talents in dance can flourish in our classes. We also feel it is important to create a welcoming, fun and safe environment.
