Ballet is the foundation of dance and the core for almost all other dance styles. It will give your child grace, flexibility and strength while teaching this beautiful art form. At the Edmunds Towers School of Dance, we train our ballet students in the syllabus set forth by the Cecchetti Council of America.
The organization uses Cav. Enrico Cecchetti’s teachings and writings in a sequence of grades, and provides our students a system of accredited examinations that tests proficiency within those grades. All ballet dancers at our dance studio will begin in Primary I, followed by Primary II and III.
Once these levels are completed the dancer will move into classical ballet training. When studying the Cecchetti syllabus, a minimum of two ballet classes per week are recommended in order the dancer to become a candidate for exams. Cecchetti exam classes are offered for those who wish to achieve certification and in the future have the option of pursuing a teaching career.

We invite you to view our dance studio website and check out what we have to offer. Here at Edmunds Towers School of Dance we strongly believe that giving a child the gift of dance is something that will last a lifetime.
Our classical ballet teachers are highly skilled and trained professionals. Beginner students receive a rewarding and exciting experience in the technique of classical ballet, from the study of basic arm and body positions to the introduction of the “barre”.
Ballet originated in the sixteenth and seventeenth century French courts, and was further developed in England, Italy, and Russia as a concert dance form. Ballet develops strength, posture, flexibility, coordination and focus.
Our experienced ballet instructors Bernadette Shum and Linda Yap teach through the RAD method. Our higher-level classes are accompanied by a live pianist to complement your training.
Our Ballet program follows The Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D.) syllabus. The classes incorporate the traditional study of classical ballet with free movement and character dance.
The structure and discipline of ballet class allow students to develop balance, poise, flexibility and strength, which are necessary for all dance forms. Our ballet classes include both classical and lyrical combinations in order to broaden our student's exposure to different styles of ballet
