At Northern School of Performing Arts, ballet classes follow the ISTD syllabus, which has evolved to promote the English classical style.

While they are not compulsory, we encourage students to sit the annual ISTD exams. Students also have the opportunity to showcase their hard work at our annual end-of-year performance.
We offer a wide range of dance, theatre and music classes for students from 3 years of age right up to advanced and adult levels. Be taught and inspired by some of Auckland's best teachers.
This is a one-hour open ballet class with a barre, centre practice and allegro.
This energetic class consists of foundational jazz dance elements including; counting & timing, directional changing, spotting, body alignment, contractions, isolations, jumps, turns and combinations.
Open ballet class combined with pointe work (for students pre-approved by the teacher). This is an intermediate level class for teenagers with previous ballet or jazz experience.
Beginner Ballet is a more informative and ballet-specific class, with a focus on learning the basics of ballet required in a creative yet structured way.
Classical Ballet is the base training for any dancer
