The Dance Theatre Performing Arts is a performing arts school offering Children’s and Adult’s classes in dance, drama and voice.
Although taught separately, all classes are inter-related, and culminate in a full musical theatre production at the end of the season.
Recent productions have included: Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, and Alice in Wonderland.
Ballet provides a good, solid foundation for many of the other dance styles in the DAS Recreational program, and it’s Caelia’s personal favourite! We have four levels of recreational adult ballet: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Emotion is the wellspring of the expressive gesture in modern dance, in contrast to the aestheticism and virtuosity of classical ballet.
The program encourages the love of music and dance while inspiring imagination and stimulating creativity. This practical learning experience fosters participation, artistry, imagination and self-assurance, in a very enjoyable, child- centered atmosphere.
Classes will progress at a rate that allow you to grow in strength and refine your technique, with movement and combinations becoming more complex.
For those looking for the artistic element within a workout program. You may have wanted to try dance as a child but didn't have the opportunity,  or you danced in your youth and want to get back into it. Nothing exercises both sides of the body more fairly then classical ballet.
