The RAD syllabus encourages self expression with a sense of performance and style, while building the foundations of strong classical ballet technique.
The Vocational Syllabus from Intermediate Foundation to Advanced Two requires a lot of time and commitment to reach the necessary standard – this work develops technique and artistry to the highest levels.
The Valerie Lissette School of Dance has established a reputation for excellence in dance training and theatrical performances. Classes offered are Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Musical Theatre, which are taught by qualified teachers in an encouraging and supportive atmosphere.
Our classes promote co-ordination, poise, flexibility, an appreciation of music and almost as important – respect! As students get older, there is a strong focus on technique and performance – allowing them to develop as accomplished, versatile dancers.
The School is a registered member of the Royal Academy of Dance, American Jazz Dance Affiliation and Theatrical Dance International.
Everyone can participate in our entertaining annual production at the Clarence St Theatre.
Senior students are encouraged to participate in Open Classical, Repertoire and Pointe Classes.
A unique experience where children aged 3 and 4 years can learn to dance in a ‘Storybook’ themed class.
Our Young Adult classes mix up styles each week for people who wish to continue their Love of Dance beyond their high school training in a fun and relaxed way
