Every student who trains at SBDC receives a quality dance education in a positive learning environment. At SBDC, we are fortunate to have wonderfully qualified instructors who are all passionate about the art of dance, who believe in the ability of dance to transform individuals, and who treasure the unique qualities within each student.
Our mission is simple: We at SBDC are committed to training and motivating a new generation of dancers.
South Bay Dance Center is recognized by many bay area professional dancers and college faculty members as the premiere dance education facility for serious dance students in the greater San Jose region.
Students ages 7 and up are invited to participate in a one-hour ballet class. Â Our disciplined, yet encouragement-based technique class offers the student a clear understanding of ballet terminology, proper body lines, and alignment.
Dancers gain admittance to this class through teacher recommendation and director approval. Â This 75-minute non-performing technique class will focus on the strength and alignment necessary for pointe work.
This class introduces students to the elements of ballet. Ballet exercises including barre work, center work, and across the floor combinations, combined with creative lessons in rhythm, coordination, balance, and musicality stimulate students’ creativity and self-expression.
Students enrolled in the pre-professional division are placed in each level on a basis of individual improvement, technical ability, and work ethic.
Ballet Dance Classes are offered by Dancyn Studio for all ages and skill level. At Dancyn Studio we prepare our dancers for a future of success. By ingraining the values of hard work, discipline, and teamwork, they gain a solid foundation of dance excellence.
