Formally known as Hawthorn Studio of Dance. Established in 1991, The Dance Studio Academy of Performing Arts, has been providing expert dance tuition for over 25 years. Offering classes in many styles and for all age groups, The Dance Studio aims to create fun and enjoyable classes whilst maintaining a high quality of dance tuition. We offer RAD Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Baby-Toes Ballet classes for students 2 years and up.
This course is ideal for late teens and students currently in high school. The one year course is designed to provide preparatory training for students seeking to achieve a high level of competency in dance, with a view to pursuing a career in musical theatre or commercial dance.
Students have the opportunity to train in Vaganova and Cecchetti methods, in addition to their RAD studies.

Following on from the Next Steps programs, Aspirants is developed to be the next stage in learning classical ballet. Unlike Next Steps, Aspirants doesn’t follow a class theme, but follows the structure of a traditional ballet class with barre work and centre practice.
Classical ballet is the strongest foundation for any dancer and is the foundation for most dance forms. We highly recommend all students take at least one ballet class a week.
