These are simple jobs that with a little skill and confidence you can do yourself. You only need to know some basic rules and know how to check your work so you can safely complete the task.

There are so many jobs around the house from fixing electrical equipment, replacing fuses and checking if something is blown. Seeing if there is actually voltage at a socket using a plug in tester.

How about adding a celling light to your room replacing that old 100W bulb with a new energy saving LED fixture? Homeowners are always trying to improve their home and there are plenty of new switches, LED lights etc. that you can buy from the DIY store but they are not always as straight forward to connect.

There are some electrical jobs that you are allowed to do yourself in the home that are perfectly legal to do but any major works should always be left to the professionals.

In the class you will learn what the electrical equipment in your house does and why it's important and how to do some basic tasks. You will also learn about low voltage equipment, AC, DC and different cables a full list of topics covered are listed below.
