Our Story
Ritual Dyes was created in 2017, born in Rachel's kitchen out of a love (obsession) with knitting and creative control over all the things. Later Rachel and team moved out of the kitchen and established a neighborhood LYS and dye studio in Southeast Portland.
Drawing inspiration from nature, the great Pacific Northwest, nostalgia and the occult. Ritual Dyes cares deeply about our crafting community and works to create an inclusive environment where the community feels represented.
This is your chance to make that tree skirt for beloved friends and family. A very quick and easy tree skirt will make everyone happy. It looks so much more difficult than it is....really! Select five beautiful fabrics (most one yard) and you will have a memorable gift.
Know Your Knits 101 is a two-part series so that we can explore and practice sewing different kinds of knits (there are SEW many!). Choosing a simple pair of leggings, lounge pants/shorts or skirt lets us focus on technique and fit without feeling rushed.
This class is for students who already know how to cast on and the knit stitch but would like to advance to knitting in the round and make a hat. Perfect for the upcoming season!
Want to learn how to knit? Or need a refresher because you haven't knit in a long time? In this class you will learn how to cast on and create the basic stitches of knitting, how to “read” your work, and how to fix mistakes. No previous experience is required.
