Boxing

Midtown Youth Academy (MYA) aims to prepare underserved youth for success in educational and future endeavors by helping them to develop skills, self-discipline, and cohesive relationships through sports and various other wellness and educational programs.

MYA uses boxing and the gym as a vehicle to engage with teenagers, to keep them off the streets, and to introduce them to a broad platform of activities, including tutoring and mentoring, that would help them succeed at school and in their communities.

Goals

• Provide educational support to affect youth outcomes.

• Prepare youth for future endeavors using life skills development, self-discipline, confidence building, and fostering cohesive relationships.

• Promote healthy living through sports, health education, and activities.

• Provide sustainable and specialty skills as an accessory to educational wellness.
