Midtown Youth Academy (MYA) aims to prepare underserved youth for success in educational and future endeavors by helping them to develop skills, self-discipline, and cohesive relationships through sports and various other wellness and educational programs.
MYA uses boxing and the gym as a vehicle to engage with teenagers, to keep them off the streets, and to introduce them to a broad platform of activities, including tutoring and mentoring, that would help them succeed at school and in their communities.
Goals
Provide educational support to affect youth outcomes.
Prepare youth for future endeavors using life skills development, self-discipline, confidence building, and fostering cohesive relationships.
Promote healthy living through sports, health education, and activities.
Provide sustainable and specialty skills as an accessory to educational wellness.
Enables ‘Midtown Champions’ to support the youth of the community. Every adult that walks through the doors of Midtown Youth Academy and decides to join us, either through a monthly membership or a daily drop-in, helps to financially support our youth programs.
