The course is a minimum of 8 hours in length. At the conclusion of the course, students participate in a written review and practical evaluation. Successful completion of this course is required to apply for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) to acquire non-restricted firearms and ammunition.
Niagara Training Academy looks forward to being your firearms safety course provider. All of our instructors have been appointed and certified by the Chief Firearms Officer of Ontario to instruct.
And conduct examinations for the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC). All instructors were trained.
And are governed by the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario (FSESO). All instructors are also "Members in Good Standing," as per the FSESO Policies and Procedures.
Individuals who wish to acquire restricted firearms must take the full classroom delivery of the CFSC (above) and successfully complete the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)
The (CRFSC) is made up of lectures and hands on practical training in the  safe handling of restricted firearms (typically handguns). Prohibited firearms are discussed but no actual prohibited firearms will be used  during the practical training portion.
The Canadian Firearm Safety Course (PAL) 8 hours of class time is required, must be completed before the Canadian Restricted Firearm Safety course (RPAL) can be taken. 4 or 6 hours is required.Â
