This Course is a stand-alone qualification that will enhance your theoretical and practical skill for anyone that has completed Professional Development Award Level 6 and SVQ level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
This Professional Development Award Level 7 in Carpentry and Joinery is for those who wish to enhance their skills achieved in level 6 as this award is offered here as a stand-alone certificate.
You'll spend 11 weeks at college generally one blocks and a 2-week block for stair construction, you will learn the advanced craft carpentry and joinery skills. You will be able to transfer your practical skills on the job as a tradesperson. You'll spend the remainder of the year with your employer gaining essential industry experience.
These Classes are held in both fully equipped workshops and classrooms.

The BWRP workshop is always a hub of activity. Our staff strive to teach our volunteers the skills they need to create and build furniture from reclaimed timber, as well as giving them the confidence to start projects of their own.
You do not need any prior experience to come on this course. There is a progression from one joint to the next, and some basic skills are repeated in later joints. You do not have to attend every session, but it is recommended that you do in order to develop and build upon your skills.
Each course is designed a little differently we will be covering what is needed to set you on the path to go and make tables, doors, benches and framework etc.
This occupation involves carrying out skilled work, primarily using timber products, either on a construction site or in a workshop, creating and installing building components.
