North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) is a large Further Education college offering a wide range of full-time, part-time, Higher Education and Apprenticeship programmes over six campuses based within Warwickshire and Leicestershire.
The College also works with over 600 businesses across a wide range of sectors – working with organisations to determine their ‘training needs analysis’. We then design a programme to match your (the employer’s) requirements.
This course introduces you to the carpentry and joinery work environment within the construction industry. You will learn how to use hand tools as well as portable power tools as you master the art of creating woodworking joints, frames, doors and windows.
This course is ideal for those wishing to build on their Japanese woodcut skills. The technique is entirely non-toxic using watercolour pigments and not oil based inks to make nuanced prints. It also requires no press so it is easy to set up at home.
Discover fundamental skills and techniques in woodworking by building a unique solid oak stool using a wedged through mortise and tenon joint (see picture on the right) that you can take home with you at the end of the 2 day course.
Get professional training in woodworking by the sea!
This one-year course is designed to provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skill to begin your journey to be a qualified Site Carpenter/Bench Joiner. You will also meet key employers in the trade.
