The course is an internally assessed, Unit Standards based course, to gain BCITO (Building and Construction Industry Training Organization) credits.

The course structure we will offer in 2022 builds on a progressive yet balanced foundation. It will provide a good range of options at all year levels and expand upon the vocational directed courses offered to Years 12 and 13. This course structure will enable students to work to the best of their abilities, and the school is determined to provide every opportunity for them to do this.
Participants will need to be able to carry their project a short distance from their car into the workshop and then back again to be stored at home between lessons. Participants should wear comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes and jewellery that will not get caught in any machinery.
Students use the same construction/ Joinery workshops that our pre-trade students work in so they are able to see first-hand the types of projects that are carried out by the full-time students.
Our Carpentry programmes will provide you with the hands-on skills you need to start your career as a builder. With our workshop facilities, experienced teachers, industry connections and apprenticeship scheme, you’ll hit the ground running.
This very popular series of workshops covers a range of equipment found in our wood workshop. It’s suitable for novices or anyone wishing to upskill, particularly in power-tools and machinery. Â
