Are you working in the building industry and want your carpentry trade qualification? This flexible course will allow you to become a qualified carpenter while working in the construction industry under the supervision of your employer, who is willing to support you as an apprentice.
This class gives people the opportunity to develop skills and friendships as they work on their own project. Help with any problems is given by the tutor. Woodturning is also available. No recycled timber to be used.
Participants will need to be able to carry their project a short distance from their car into the workshop and then back again to be stored at home between lessons. Participants should wear comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes and jewellery that will not get caught in any machinery.
The course is an introduction to basic carpentry skills and knowledge used in carpentry, building and construction and joinery industries taught in one of the wood workshops.
