Level 1 introduces the learner to carpentry and joinery skills. It allows students to learn, develop and practise their practical ability and construction knowledge with a mixture of theory and practical sessions which develops the learner at their own pace.
This qualification is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who work or want to work in the construction industry and specialise in working with wood.

This course covers the following skills and Knowledge: The principles of construction building including Information and communication with in the industry, producing basic woodworking joints, safely using various hand and power tools and Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction.
This is assessed through producing several pieces of practical work to industrial standards that will demonstrate your ability and allow you to progress, and end of unit knowledge exams of which there are two which must be sat online in our specialist exam testing centre.
Carpentry & Joinery is an exciting and challenging career. The course will combine core skills such as communication, organisation, planning as well as practical skills. The course will give you the knowledge and skills to progress into a higher qualifications and various pathways within the industry.
