Learning that Works
We make people more employable by teaching them the skills businesses truly need and providing them with opportunities to help them stand out from the crowd.
The course covers the correct use of tools, gives students the chance to learn and improve their skills, to create basic joints and methods, suitable for various tasks.
The BWRP workshop is always a hub of activity. Our staff strive to teach our volunteers the skills they need to create and build furniture from reclaimed timber, as well as giving them the confidence to start projects of their own.
In this throw away age, when all the furniture we own is assembled and not built, we are pleased to offer an opportunity to spend some precious time learning how to use ageless tools to make something everlasting from wood.
This course is a great introduction to woodworking. The course is for one day, and you will be using hand and power tools to make this box in solid oak and contrasting top. During the day you will learn cutting, planing, and machining techniques.
This course is suitable for persons inexperienced in the use of wood chipping machinery. The course is physical in nature. Trainees must have a good level of general fitness and stamina.
