When Kathy Peoples was growing up, she always had a sketch pad in her hands. She loved pen & ink and oil painting. As she grew into her teenage years, she took a lot of photographs with a 126 camera.
Then when she graduated High School, she was given the gift of a GAF 35mm manual SLR camera by her parents and a friend and that started the photography craze!
Her new found journey was now full-time when she opened her studio taking photographs professionally in 1984 in a converted local duplex home in the middle of her home town, Southampton, Pa. The building was cleaned out when she arrived to move in except for a beautiful old wedding portrait left in the basement. When her dad brought it upstairs and presented it she knew it was an omen! Who could have left such a precious memory behind? No on knew, so it became the center of her studio, placing it above the fireplace in the camera room. For 25 years Katydid had a successful wedding business.
In 1988 Katydid moved to a larger location in Warwick, Pa not far from it’s original location. Kathy has now expanded her teaching ability into various classes, workshops and private lessons.
Kathy served on the board of Delaware Valley Guild of Professional Photographers for 5 years and was also president of the Guild’s APPSO organization. She also held the title of Certified Professional Photographer with PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and belongs to several other professional organizations.

Classes have been designed to combine hands-on, practical learning with inspirational insights around the broader themes of Photography.
Each Composition in the Field class begins with a talk with one of our experienced instructors, and then you and your fellow students take a stroll through one of a variety of photogenic locales (in any of the 20+ cities the DPA encapsulates).
After 20 years of offering Photography workshops, we have never produced one workshop with similar outcome, there is no exact science in how we do things but what remains consistent in our Photography classes are the specific instructions in perfect lighting.
