Jazz Dancers need versiltility, they need to be able to adapt to any and every choreographers style in an instant. If you want to be a jazz dancer you must have a jazz training. Real Jazz is athletic, it’s full of energy and grit.
It’s sweaty and exhausting from the sensuality of Fosse to the strength of A Chorus Line. Lyrical Modern dance, so favoured by many should not be confused as or with Contemporary dance. They are completely different. Lyrical Modern is derived from a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary.
The Bristol School of Dancing is the oldest established dance school in the city. Situated in the heart of Clifton, with classes at various other locations around Bristol and North Somerset, we’ve been sharing our love of dance for the past 70 years.

We have students furthering their training at Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College, Performers College, Urdang, ISTD teacher training, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, The Hammond, Elmhurst Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School.
Current students attend a range of prestigious Associate programmes including Elmhurst Young Dancers, Royal Ballet School Junior Associates and Ballet Cymru.
Jazz incorporates traditional or stylized dynamic movements with strength, continuity, presence and proper technical execution. Jazz is lively, energetic and motivating, with the understanding that the dynamics of movement may change to utilize musicality.
Jazz classes are offered by Glasgow Dance Centre. We have a diversity of highly skilled and qualified dance teachers, dancers and performers who are ready ti take you on your journey through dance.
Jazz dance classes are offered by SR Dance Academy. We provide dance classes to children and adults. We offer a safe haven for students to meet new friends, express themselves through dance and overall build self esteem.
Adult Jazz/Fitness classes are offered by Dance Discovery. The main aim of the dance school is fun and enjoyment while working towards RAD & ISTD exams throughout the year. We also have various performance opportunities which we encourage pupils to attend.
Dance classes are offered by Barbara Mann Dance Academy and Theatre School. Classes are run evenings and weekends with a variety of lessons in dance and performing arts. We hold a main production every two years at one of Bradford’s main theatres and we endeavour to hold annual parents viewing...
