Both lyrical & Contemporary are a fusion of ballet & jazz technique. Dancers use fluid, continuous & graceful motion to express feelings conveyed through the story & emotion of a piece of music.
The Lyrical dance style has its primary basis in ballet, combining the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom, fluidity, expressiveness and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance.
This class is a combination of ballet and jazz, utilizing the strength from ballet combined with the expression of jazz to help dancers learn to interpret and express feeling and tell a meaningful story through movement.
Contemporary is a unique dance form that takes maturity, strength and technique. Contemporary is a ballet-based dance form and requires a strong ballet foundation. Teachers will go through raw movement qualities for this dance form.
This class will only be offered to students who have several years of strong technique in ballet or jazz.
