While learning about professionalism and preparing students for university level material, the class is built around sophisticated modern work. Classes are based on the Limon and Graham traditions of modern dance as well as creative movement vocabulary.
Contemporary dance fuses jazz, ballet and modern techniques. This class also has a large focus on improvised movement and students exploring their own creative expression.
This style strives to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements, stressing versatility and free-form improvisation. Contemporary dancers focus on floor work utilizing gravity, free patterns of movement and self-expression.
The Danse-Études program allows young dancers to nurture their passion, to discover themselves by exploring different styles and to realize themselves through the practice of dance
Both lyrical & Contemporary are a fusion of ballet & jazz technique. Dancers use fluid, continuous & graceful motion to express feelings conveyed through the story & emotion of a piece of music.
