The goal of this class is to help you build your confidence and dance vocabulary in a fun and accessible way.
Contemporary is a ‘free form’ style of dance influenced by many dance styles and art forms. In the Beginners class we will focus on introducing you to basic Contemporary footwork, turns, floor work, jumps and other Contemporary techniques, and then incorporating them into a short routine each week.

Crossover Dance Studio is Sydney’s largest street dance studio, with over 80 classes per week over a range of street and commercial styles. Our studio features 4 studios, sprung wood safety floors, full lift access, changing rooms, air conditioning and a large reception area, We are located in the city and close to public transport. Contemporary dance genre incorporating technique from classical ballet while giving creative freedom to movement connecting the mind and body through intricate but fluid movements.

Contemporary Dance Lessons are offered by Dance Junction for all ages and skills. Dance Junction offers students the choice to take part in eisteddfods, public performances & exams.
Designed by ex-Ballet dancers this style is still technical but with much more focus on rounded shapes, floorwork, grounded movements, and expressiveness. Unlike the “prettier” Ballet style, Contemporary Dance can be unexpected and unusual but is still powerful and captivating.
For students in years 7 & 8, Wednesday afternoon is classical extension classes during normal school sport time. Older students can attend classes on Monday and a full day on Wednesday for a Certificate 3 & 4 in Dance, Certificate 3 in Assistant Dance Teaching.
