Offered to students 6 yrs & above, this new syllabus is designed to build a strong foundation in the contemporary dance genre incorporating technique from classical ballet while giving creative freedom to movement connecting the mind and body through intricate but fluid movements.
Brisbane Academy of Dance was established in 1994 and has since grown to become a renowned provider of quality dance education and training on the north side of Brisbane. We offer a diverse dance curriculum for students from 2 years old to young professional, including such genres as classical ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, acrobatics and hip hop.

Contemporary is a free and intensely creative form of dance, based on a wide range of movements.
The I.S.T.D. syllabus is taught in these classes. It is a wonderful progressive graded syllabus used internationally, which builds a solid technique rich in the understanding of rhythms; and encompasses lyrical, percussive, jazz, musical theatre and comtemporary styles.
This class emphasizes dynamic, full-body movements that are both energetic and dramatic, based on classical technique. Learn to express yourself through movement while gaining strength and flexibility, as well as learning fun contemporary combinations to a variety of songs.
Learn basic to intermediate contemporary dance techniques including body placements and positions, transfer of weight, using the floor, and improvisation in this 5-week introductory course.
