The style uses the natural alignment and energy of the body and aims to encourage creativity and expression. Classes involve a stretching component as well as improvisation, partnering work and a routine. Contemporary classes are offered from age 9 - adults, with a pre-requisite of ballet experience recommended.
DanceWorks Geelong is an all inclusive dance studio who offers dance classes for all abilities, from Toddlers to Adults.
Formally owned by Jana Kolacz, DanceWorks Geelong is now owned and operated by Dimi Sunderland. Dimi has a wealth of experience in dance training and education and strives to provide quality dance education to each student who steps foot in the studio. Dimi has a keen interest developing her student’s technical ability as well as ensuring they are learning in a fun and inclusive environment.

Contemporary dance can be measured by its versatility. It can be danced to almost any type of music and fused with other dance forms to find new movement styles.
Contemporary/Lyrical is a compilation of different styles of dance, including lyrical, classical ballet, jazz and modern dance.
Contemporary Dance Lessons are offered by Starstruck Dance and Cheerleading Academy Pakenham. Our state of the art facility in Pakenham is one of Australia's best and your children will have the time of their lives learning from our highly trained and welcoming coaches!
